Extensive city centre public realm programme moves forward
An extensive £1.6m programme of public realm work is progressing in the heart of Bradford’s city centre.
The re-development will transform the Tyrrel Street, Bank Street and Hustlergate area of the city centre, and is set to kickstart the regeneration of Bradford’s retail quarter.
The three streets will be resurfaced with new and re-used natural stone paving, a variety of trees will be planted and new street furniture will be installed improving the look and feel of the shopping area.
Councillor Adrian Naylor, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Regeneration and Economy, said: “The scheme is well under way and progressing smoothly. The programme is set to improve the appearance and connectivity of the city centre and ultimately be a catalyst for the wider regeneration of Bradford’s retail offering.”
