Gatehaus Hat trick

The £1.5 billion regeneration of Bradford is an exciting time for the city and surrounding areas.  With the first projects under Bradford Centre Regeneration’s (BCR) stewardship now not only being completed but recognised and praised.

Last night at the Bradford District Design Awards, The Gatehaus won Building of the Year, completing a hat trick of award wins.  The development designed by Robinson Design Group based in Shipley has also won ‘Best City Centre Development’ at the Resi Props Awards 2008 and the ‘Design Excellence Award’ at the Insider Property Awards 2008.

The quality of current development in Bradford is of the highest standard, a claim that is supported by the Bradford District Design Awards whose organisers have seen a 50% increase in entries for the 2008 awards.

Design is key to any successful development, to this end Robinson Design Group are currently enjoying a number of successes within the city.  The multidisciplinary practice of professional building design consultants have not only had success with The Gatehaus but also in providing full design services to Bradford Chamber Business Park and Manningham Mills Community Association, of which both projects received Commendations at the Bradford District Design Awards, while also providing structural and landscape services for Newmason Property’s multi award winning Victoria Mills development in Shipley.

Following the Bradford District Design Awards Tony Mobbs, Robinson Design Group Managing Director commented, “Bradford is continually raising its standards in building design, highlighted by the superb range of projects on show tonight.  On a personal level I am very proud of our achievements through developments like The Gatehaus and excited about our future ongoing involvement in the regeneration of the city".

Today there is a far more positive attitude towards the regeneration of Bradford than there was only a few years ago.  This is largely due to the work of BCR, the Local Authority and the designers and developers who are working together to provide Bradford with quality buildings and developments that define the city and gives the people of Bradford a city to be proud of.
